This research work is based on the observation that public health issues related to food, particularly with regard to children, continue to grow and that the responsibility of the agri-food industry is regularly questioned by the public authorities, the media and public opinion. The thesis examines the way in which actors in agri-food marketing take up these issues through an in-depth analysis of the representations, speeches and justifications they give about ethical marketing. This research is based on fifteen interactions between the researcher and a marketing manager of food products consumed by children. These in-depth interviews, enriched with specific collection techniques, were conducted with the aim of revealing the plurality of managers interviewed and going beyond the agreed discourses. The analysis was conducted at a double level: a comprehensive approach made it possible to bring out the argumentative resources mobilized by managers to bring about ethical marketing and an approach based on the analysis of the researcher-researcher interaction-manager allowed the exploration of the tensions and arbitrations operated by the managers. The discussion of these results raises the need to rethink the marketing ethic in the light of the figure of the child and the imaginary with which the latter is invested, to help the marketing practitioner working on this target face an ever-changing stream of ethical emergences. Realized in the framework of the professional reconversion to the profession of teacher-researcher after a career of marketing framework, the thesis opens on the questioning of the issues specific to the teaching of ethics and marketing.
